Behind Every Story Blog
I chose to write a blog as a way to connect with potential readers, share my stories, and hopefully inspire others to take similar leaps (whether in their next adventure or in their next career decision). Writing a blog isn't necessarily natural to me - I'm a private person so I thought sharing this much on the internet would feel odd. I've been pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is; how natural it feels to write these short snippets that will hopefully provide future readers with some insight into who I am and the adventures I've been on. I hope you enjoy!
Why a Book?
“Have you always known you want to write a book?” This is one of the questions that I receive the most when I tell people what I am now doing since I left legal practice. The short answer?
Kind of. Ish.
Naughty Coyotes
If you guessed this was the scene from a recent backpacking trip, you’d be right.
What else can sound so entirely unpleasant and yet be something we go back for again and again?
Attorney to Author
So, why leave? I chose to leave big law to pursue this dream because I knew that if I didn’t, I would look back and wonder, “What if?” What if I had devoted the time to see where this could go? What if I had bet on myself?
What if this is the biggest opportunity of my life that I would be too scared to take.
“That’s Our Writer”
I don’t know what it was about the Old Stand specifically that pulled me in, but as soon as I stepped inside, I felt something. Maybe it was the gold railings or the red seats or the ornate ceiling; or maybe it was even the few patrons well on their way to a pre-noon buzz—I’m not sure. But the moment I stepped inside, I knew I had found the place.
